The electrical services installation on the Birmingham New Street Station redevelopment project in the centre of Birmingham. The package includes working within the vicinity of station platform and concourse areas in addition to the main station building.

II.2) LĪGUMA APJOMS VAI ROBEŽAS
II.2.1) Kopējais apjoms vai galējās robežas:
Network Rail wishes to procure a Contractor for the installation of electrical services in connection with the reconstruction/redevelopment of Birmingham New Street Station.
The Contractor, working with Network Rail, will be responsible for carrying out the works in accordance with the relevant Network Rail standards. These are as follows:
Supply, installation and commission of all electrical cabled services. These services include, but are not limited to: emergency signage, electrical power and lighting, fire alarms, voice and data communications, telecommunications, public address, lightning protection and security installations.
Work will be carried out over a 4.5 year period with permanent works installed alongside phased works activities so that the station remains operational at all times.
The project is targeting BREEAM Very Good and as such information to achieve this will need to be provided.
Ensure that the works are carried out in line with Network Rail standards and expectations and that all operations exceed the relevant Health and Safety legislation applicable to de-construction works and working in/around an operational railway station interchange.
A two stage approach will be taken, whereby at Stage 1, tenderers capability will be assessed and fixed prices and rates tendered and agreed for fixable elements; and at Stage 2 a reduced number of tenderers will be required to competitively tender on the basis of a fixed price lump sum for a fully designed scope.
