9.8 million privatization vouchers not utilized yet
At the beginning of February, 9.8 million privatization vouchers or 8.8 percent of all privatization vouchers were not utilized yet, LETA learned at the Ministry of Economy.

4.06 million vouchers remain in individuals' accounts, and 4.39 million vouchers - in legal entities' accounts. 1.35 million vouchers have not been transferred to accounts.
Overall, 111.65 million privatization vouchers have been issued to Latvia's residents. 2.38 million residents have opened voucher accounts in "Latvijas Krajbanka" (Latvian Savings Bank) and "Latvijas Hipoteku un zemes banka" (Latvian Mortgage and Land Bank), to which 110.3 million vouchers have been transferred.
Individuals have utilized 95.2 percent of privatization vouchers, and 70.6 percent individuals utilized all the vouchers they had.
101.02 million vouchers or 90.5 percent of all vouchers have been utilized in the privatization process.
34.73 million vouchers have been utilized for privatization of 418,000 apartments and homes; 7.08 million - for privatization of enterprises and other private property; 44.43 million - for buying capital shares in companies. 14.78 million vouchers were used to purchase 1.43 million hectares of farmland and 12,600 hectares of land in cities.
620,000 compensation vouchers worth LVL 17.4 million were cancelled by paying compensation for rural land plots to 8,400 individuals. 150,000 vouchers worth LVL 4.3 million were cancelled, paying compensation to 24,600 residents who were victims of political reprisals.
50,000 property compensation vouchers worth LVL 1.5 million were allotted to 334 unlawfully deported persons.
