The press release states that mass media have released imprecisely interpreted information about financial operations at the company's holding company "Alstom S.A." therefore casting doubt on adequacy of "Alstom Power Sweden" to the winner of the tender.
Livanovics stressed that losses of the holding company would not affect operations and the financial stability of "Alstom Power Sweden". In last financial year, net profit at the company totaled LVL 3.5 million and turnover has been steadily increasing for past four years.
In order to provide more information, a press briefing is scheduled for "Konventa seta" Hotel at 12 noon today with the participation of Livanovics and "Alstom Holding" Latvia office financial director, Juris Lacis.
"Alstom Power Sweden AB" was selected as the major candidate on February 3 this year, among five foreign companies in the tender on TEC-1 reconstruction which was announced on June 26 2002.
