Approximately 50 students form different educational institutions will have their summer practice at the Latvijas Energoceltnieks (LEC)
Jānis Kols, chairman of the board at the company LEC, informs, that students, who have their summer practice in company, mostly are from Riga Technical College and also from Building craft high school, Building College and Technical University. Especially good cooperation has formed with Technical College. Students from above mentioned institutions are working at the company not only during the summer time practice, but also at the educational and production practices, that are held every year from March till October.

"Our company has always been opened to the students who are willing to work in our company during the practice. Considering the fact, that we have wide sphere of activity - energetic, communications, and building - we can provide a lot of work places for students at the time of practice. I believe, that it is beneficial for the company, because you can learn a lot about the person while he/she is working. In that way we have more guaranties, that educated and professional people will work at our company after the studies. I could tell, that practice for employer and future employee is two-direction way how to get to know each other."
Information about every student, who had practice at the company LEC is held in archive. Thereby there is possibility to check, what kind of references from brigade leaders and leaders of departments have been received about former students, when question about hiring the potential employee is decided."
"The best ones have guaranteed job position in our company. Average age of the employees at our company is 33. It means, that we need young and professional people, who can have, I think, successful career here" said Kols and added, that students, during the practice, can make sure, that their choice about profession was right.
Students receive salary during the practice. They have possibility to make till 180 Lats in month in average. The best students have company's scholarship - till 70 Lats at month.
Juris Silarājs, manager of the Riga Technical University's Department of energetic acknowledges, that LEC is the biggest of the private companies, where students can have their practice.
"We are very interested in such cooperation. We have successful cooperation with Latvenergo system and SIA Moduls. One of our graduates got superintendent's position at the LEC serviss. I believe that this is high estimation of our students," informed Silarājs.
