Capacity of BCS-2 will be 6 million tons annually which will be exported to Primorsk, sidetracking Baltic oil export ports.
The first stage of BCS was completed at the end of last year, its capacity is 12 million tons of oil products annually.
"Baltneftjeprovod", a subsidiary of the Russian oil transport company "Transneft", informed that documentation of BCS-2 has been already pushed through all-level institutions and a preliminary job has been launched on the construction site. Land planning has been also begun in the regions through which the new pipeline will run - Yaroslavl, Tver and Novgorod.
The BCS-2 will connect the Yaroslavl oil processing factory with the Primorsk port. Within the project, 258 kilometers of pipelines are to be installed and three oil pumping plants are to be built.
It is expected that capacity of the new oil export corridor will reach 50 million tons of oil annually in 2005.
