"Bowlero" named best new building in Latvia
The Latvian Builders^apostrofs; Association in its competition "Best Buildings 2002" has given the top prize to the sports and recreation center "Bowlero" in Riga^apostrofs;s Pardaugava (Lielirbes Street 27).
The Latvian Builders' Association in its competition "Best Buildings 2002" has given the top prize to the sports and recreation center "Bowlero" in Riga's Pardaugava (Lielirbes Street 27).
The design project is from the architectural firm of "Silis, Zabers and Klava" and the project's main contractor was "Musu maja Ltd."
The award for best reconstruction project of the year went to Riga High School No. 49's gymnasium at Valdemera Street 49. The designers are from the firm of "Ivara Slivkas birojs", the contractor: "Skonto buve".
Designed by the architectural firm of "Sestais sils"and contracted by "RBS Skals", the Riga Old Town building at Audeja Street 8 was named best restoration project.
The second best building of the year was the commercial complex at Krasta Street 68a in Riga - "mc2" (designed by "Arhis", contracted by "PBLC Ltd.").
Third place was a tie between two new edifices, one in Liepaja ("Jurnieku centrs" at Celtnieku Street 21/23) and the commercial complex "Tirdzniecibas centrs" in Daugavpils at Saknu Street 3. "Jurnieku centrs" designer and main contractor were "Pamats Ltd.", while architects from "Arhis" and the general contractor "Ditton buve" were responsible for the Daugavpils building.
