Buddhist temple to be built in Latvia
Plans are under way for a Buddhist temple to be built in Latvia and in this regard, an envoy from the Tibetan spiritual leader The Dalai Lama, one of the patriarchs of Tibetan Buddhism teachings, Drigun Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, will arrive in Latvia on October 1.

As LETA was informed by the visit's organizing committee chairman Peteris Klava, the leaders of Tibetan Buddhist teachings decided to build a temple in Latvia after their visit here last year.
The temple is planned as a center of education and culture for studies of Buddhism philosophy, yoga, meditation, Tibetan medicine, the arts and literature.
Chetsang Rinpoche has been selected as the spiritual leader of the temple, he also heads numerous Buddhist monasteries in the Himalayas and over 500 meditation centers worldwide.
Chetsang Rinpoche will become acquainted with possible construction sites for the temple during his visit to Latvia and will give a lecture on October 3. He is set to meet with the parliamentary Tibetan support group on October 2.
