City council votes in favor of renting out land on Skanstes Street for new hockey arena

The Riga City Council decided today to rent out a 17-hectare large piece of land on Riga^apostrofs;s Skanstes Street to "Multihalle Ltd." for construction of the new multi-functional arena.

The Riga City Council decided today to rent out a 17-hectare large piece of land on Riga's Skanstes Street to "Multihalle Ltd." for construction of the new multi-functional arena.

The building will house the new hockey arena.

A 15-hectare area will be reserved for two years for another adjacent edifice, that will house offices, etc., that will serve as a financial support base for maintenance of the new arena.
