Competition about development of the documentation of the Airport's Riga running track's extension and lighting system is announced.

Applications can be submitted by September 8, 2001, but development of construction plan is planned to finish by March 1, 2002.

LETA already informed, that it's planned to extend Airport's Riga running track and also to build new terminal for freight and small aviation.

Project about airport's running track's extension plans to extend running track to the south for 650 meters, so it's total length could be 3.150 meters.

Extension of the running track is necessary to make possible for all kinds of the airplanes to get off the ground, even for those, that can't use Airport Riga right now because of their size.

It was already reported before, that new dock terminal was opened and running track's covering was changed in Airport Riga this August.
