Construction of Sloka sewage treatment plant discussed with Swedish companies
The Jurmala municipal non-profit waterworks company "Jurmalas udens Ltd." has held meetings with four Swedish companies that inquired about the construction of the Sloka sewage treatment plant.
The Jurmala municipal non-profit waterworks company "Jurmalas udens Ltd." has held meetings with four Swedish companies that inquired about the construction of the Sloka sewage treatment plant.
Since the plant is to be constructed mostly with money donated by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), Swedish companies have been invited to sign up, Jurmala waterworks development project's economist Anda Zake told LETA. The companies "SWECO", "Sycon International", "WSP International" and "VA Ingenjorerna" applied for the competition.
The construction of the Sloka Sewage Treatment Plant is a part of the Jurmala waterworks development project. Funds for the project have been allotted by Nordic Environment Finance Corporation, SIDA, the state and municipality.
The project's total costs are LVL 3,138,000, including LVL 1 million allotted by NEFCO, LVL 1,281,000 by SIDA, LVL 173,000 were from the state and LVL 685,000 from the Jurmala City Council.
The financial strategy says that the tender for construction of the plant must be announced by March 1, 2004, the entire project must be completed by May 1, 2006.
