Dienvidu Bridge in Riga to be constructed by the "Dienvidu tilts" company

The company's bid was some LVL 5 million less than the bid of the other competitor.
"Dienvidu tilts" unites six Latvian companies - joint-stocks "BMGS" and "Latvijas tilti", "Rigas tilti Ltd.", "Skonto buve Ltd.", "Tilts Ltd." and "Viadukts Ltd.". The company was set up in July of 2002.
The tender on designing and constructing the Dienvidu Bridge concluded on April 22.
The construction of the bridge is to be launched next year and be completed in 2007.
The construction of the bridge could cost LVL 129.8 million. One half of the amount, LVL 64.7 million, could be covered by the Riga City Council. The European Union is expected to provide 40 percent or LVL 52.8 million, while the remaining 10 percent or LVL 13 million should be covered by co-financing from the state.
