Discussed cooperation of Latvian and Canadian building specialists
Viktors Puriņš, president of the Latvia Building Association (LBA) and Mārcis Ešmits, Latvia honorary consul in Canada, will meet today in Šampēteris village, to discuss possibilities to improve cooperation of building specialists from both countries.

As agency LETA was informed by real estate Company Ranka, which is administrator of village, cooperation could take place in areas of building technologies, learning, professional certification and legislation.
Goal of the LBA for international cooperation is to improve the professional preparation and competitiveness of our builders, to rise the quality of building till the level of standards in the west and to reduce corruption in the civil engineering by participating in development of the competition.
LBA already cooperates with colleges from USA, Japan, Germany, Lithuania and Estonia.
According Canadian Statistics boardģs data, Latvian-Canadian trade balance in 2000 shows that export from Latvia to Canada dominates - our companies sold goods for 28,3 millions Canadian dollars (11 million lats), but import of goods from Canada to Latvia was 8,1 millions Canadian dollars (3,4 million lats).
Press conference will be held at 13pm in Šampēteris village to inform about possibilities in cooperation between both countries.
