Fire breaks out at "Laci" bakery
A fire has broken out the bakery complex "Laci" in Babite County, Riga District, at about 10 a.m. this morning.
A fire has broken out the bakery complex "Laci" in Babite County, Riga District, at about 10 a.m. this morning.
As LETA was informed at the State Fire and Rescue Service, the service was alerted at 9:42 a.m.
According to initial information, 200 square meters of the bakery are ablaze. Six fire trucks are at scene at this time and support from Riga has arrived.
As LETA was informed by "Laci" Director Kristine Brodina, employees had noticed the fire with the help of modern detectors, that had sounded due to smoke.
The products baked during the night were saved because of workers' unified operations. The reasons for the blaze are still unclear yet, and Brodina could not comment on losses.
The firefighters have not provided any information yet to the bakery's management.
