For the third time in a row: BAU wins GWA Profi Award
Communication sector recognizes the 'Continuity and Consistency' of BAU´s advertising campaign.
BAU, the World´s Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials, Systems, has won the coveted 'GWA Profi Award' for the third time in a row. The trophy was presented on April 10 at the Hannover Messe.
The 'GWA Profi Award' was launched in 2008 by the GWA (Gesamtverband Kommunikations-agenturen – German Association of Communications Agencies). In 2013 it was held for the fifth time. The award is regarded as a kind of Oscar for B2B communication in the German-speaking world. The winners are chosen each year by a high-ranking jury, whose members make up a Who´s Who of German B2B marketing.
BAU´s innovative marketing campaign, featuring animal and plant motifs, is re-interpreted for each edition of this trade show. The GWA jury voted it into top place in the category "Continuity and consistency of brand management", in recognition also of the work of the creative agency wob München, who developed the advertising campaign initially for BAU 2005. Back then the aim was to reflect in a dynamic way the art of building and the future-oriented technologies involved in this field. Since then, the concept has been successfully continued and developed further. Juror Jörg Dambacher, Managing Director of the RTS Rieger Team, described the campaign in his presentation speech as "absolutely timeless", and said it had become a "brand classic". The high recognition factor of the motifs was like meeting up with an old friend, "familiar yet always with something to surprise", he commented. Dambacher was even moved to the highest praise for the work of his competitor wob: this successful campaign for BAU was something "we should have thought of", he said.
Winning this award again is the most recent in a succession of accolades for BAU and wob. When the new motifs for the communication campaign for BAU 2005 were presented for the first time, they immediately attracted an Econ Award (from Econ publishers of Berlin) for the best exhibition communication. Two years after that BAU won another Econ Award, this time for the campaign for BAU 2007. The 2007 campaign also made it for the first time into the final selection for the GWA Award. In 2009 and 2011 BAU and wob then won the coveted GWA Award, and now they are delighted to be collecting it again for the third time in succession.
