Gas supply partly discontinued to "Daugavpils siltumtikli" this morning
The joint-stock gas company "Latvijas gaze" (LG) this morning has partly discontinued supply of natural gas to the Daugavpils heating company "Daugavpils siltumtikli" due to overdue payments, LG press secretary Vinsents Makaris informed LETA.

Gas supply has been discontinued to the Daugavpils heating central SC-1, whereas on August 7 - supply will be discontinued to the SC-3.
On August 6, a meeting between the Daugavpils City Council and LG representatives is scheduled in order to discuss the possibilities of resuming gas supply to "Daugavpils siltumtikli".
Daugavpils City Counci deputy, proxy at "Daugavpils siltumtikli" Ilja Podkolzins told LETA yesterday that there is hope for receiving guarantees from a bank for covering debts of LVL 2 million. If banks decline to issue the loan, "Daugavpils siltumtikli" will use residual fuel oil for heating as of Monday of next week.
As reported, "Latvijas gaze" warned about the possibility of discontinuing supply of natural gas to Daugavpils and Liepaja local governments as of August 5, if the local governments fail to honor its liabilities until August 4.
"Liepģjas siltums" yesterday pledged to submit a guarantee letter therefore gas supply is not discontinued today.
Daugavpils municipality owes LVL 2.1 million to LG, whereas the insolvent "Liepajas siltums" company - LVL 180,000, which was to be paid by August 1.
