International auction on reconstruction of Riga State Tech and Riga Technical College is announced
Project unity of the Education systemģs development (ISAPV) announced auction about rights to do reconstruction of Riga State tech and Riga Technical college, using the loan, thatģs given by International Reconstruction and Development Bank (IRDB) for this purpose.

Reconstruction operations will be done according the documentation standards for international auction for small quantity operations that are accepted by IRDB at January 1995. Applicants from appropriate countries can sign for this auction as it is defined in document "Guidelines for loans given by IRDB loan and International development agency."
Auctionģs documentation can be received starting by today at ISAPV, Basteja bulv. 12, paying non-returnable fund Ls 60 and VAT or equivalent sum in freely convertible currency foe each set of auction documentation. Payment should be done by bank transfer.
According to the auction rules, offers will be valid for 90 days after their opening and, submitting it, 7.000 Ls or equivalent sum in freely convertible currency as a guarantee should be paid. Offers can be submitted by September 5, 11am.
Loan contract between World Bank and Latvia State was signed at August 19, 1999 that comes into power at February 15, 2000. Contract is signed for 28 millions Euro, that are planned for covering projectģs costs. Ministry of Education is responsible for those projects.
Education systemģs and development program has two subprograms - costs efficiency subprogram is responsible for increasing of the energy efficiency of educational institutions and renovation of buildings, but Quality of education subprogram develops standards and programs of educational subjects, tests for 9th grades, model of school evaluation and communication strategy in education.
25 self-government educational institutions were renovated in this project last year and 4,65 millions lats were spent for this purpose. Money was spent to pack windows or for their compete change, heat insulation of walls, to change roofs and in dome cases to build steamshops and lofts to enlarge available space in schools.
