It is possible that the amount could yet be cut by another LVL 150,000, LETA was informed by Gints Skodovs, acting director of "Latvia Post". The planned expenditures were slashed by altering the sorting complex's design and reducing the construction costs by the construction company "NIA Ltd.". Amending the contract has been coordinated with construction company, but before "Latvia Post" approves the amendments, the Acquisition Control Bureau must evaluate the amendments. After that, the construction of the complex must be carried out in 14 months.
As reported, the previous company's director general Aivars Droiskis was dismissed on April 14. Droiskis' removal was connected with the results of a tender on construction of the sorting complex, in which "NIA Ltd.", the winner in the tender, had offered the most expensive project.
