Latvian furniture makers off to Great Britain
A delegation of Latvia^apostrofs;s furniture manufacturers leaves for Great Britain today. The delegation includes representatives of the companies "Eliza - K Ltd.", "Tuko T Ltd.", "Lima - K Ltd.", "Eibe Ltd.", "Lestrans Ltd." and "Aula AS Ltd.", the visit has been organized by the Latvian Development Agency (LDA), LDA press secretary Valdis Freidenfelds told LETA.

According to Freidenfelds, the goal of the visit is to promote exports of Latvian furniture to the British market - furniture manufacturers will meet with potential cooperation partners and attend the biggest British international furniture show, "The Furniture Show & Furnishing Accessories 2004 (Trade)", in Birmingham January 18-21.
The program of the delegation's visit to Great Britain, prepared in conjunction with LDA and Latvian Embassy in Great Britain, includes individual meetings with potential cooperation partners and visits to several British enterprises.
According to a study of competitiveness of Latvian furniture manufacturers, conducted by LDA, Great Britain is one of the largest potential markets for the Latvian furniture makers. In 2002, Great Britain imported furniture worth a total of EUR 4.75 billion (LVL 3.2 billion).
