"Latvijas balzams" looks for site for alcohol plant

Land plots no less than four hectares throughout Latvia can be offered for the tender.
The deadline for applications is set for August 2 and review of the bids - on August 5.
LB plans to complete an investment project in 2003. Overall, LVL 5.137 million are to be invested in the development of the company this year, a part of which is to be allotted for the project on the alcohol plant.
The project will be implemented to guarantee the necessary quantity of quality alcohol for the local and Baltic market.
In 2001, LB posted LVL 1.79 million in profit which is LVL 450,000 or 33.6 percent up from 2000. Whereas audited turnover at LB in 2001 was LVL 48.32 million which is 89.6 percent more than last year.
This year, a 3.2 percent increase in the LB budget is planned, reaching LVL 49.874 million and a 16.2 percent increase in profit totaling LVL 2.081 million.
