The United States has imposed a 17.2 percent tariff on products of "Liepajas metalurgs", nevertheless, the company plans to return on the U.S. market, Tejentjevs said.
"Liepajas metalurgs" also plans to launch sales on new markets this year. This spring, exports were launched to Scandinavian countries.
According to Terentjevs, "Liepajas metalurgs" sales in Europe this year will not change much by comparison with 2001. An agreement has been reached with Europe's metallurgical companies that "Liepajas metalurgs" can market more than 100,000 tons of its products in Europe. Certification process will continue, so that the company could expand its operations in Europe.
