Liepaja City Council deputies expressed no confidence in the insolvent joint-stock "Liepajas siltums" administrator Dace Grinberga at the council's session today.
Liepaja City Council Chairman Uldis Sesks informed the session that a criminal case has been initiated for Grinberga's operations on misuse of power. Liepaja City Council executive director Normunds Niedols explained that it would be linked with selling of "Liepajas siltums" debtors.
Selling debts of "Liepajas siltums" debtors for too low price had caused suspicion to the council already last year. At a press conference earlier, Sesks already mentioned that the debts were sold for 20 percent of their value.
In November, Liepaja Criminal Police's economic division officers conducted a probe in the accountancy documentation of the insolvent "Liepajas siltums" at the request of Niedols.
The audit was launched following Niedols' petition on possible violations in selling the debts.
In October, an extraordinary meeting of "Liepajas siltums" creditors approved the Liepaja City Council as a creditor of the company.
Therefore "Liepajas siltums" has three creditors - Liepaja City Council with LVL 667,000, the joint-stock "Latvijas Unibanka" - LVL 2.6 million and State Revenue Service - LVL 698,000.
The meeting of the "Liepajas siltums" creditors is planned today in order to review renewal of insolvency ahead of the set rehabilitation deadline.
