"Merks" is ready to build the arena on Skanstes Street, Lipmans said. "Merks" is also ready to start work as soon as possible.
Besides, "Merks" has accepted Riga City Council's previous conditions for leasing the land plot, where the arena will be built.
The Cabinet of Ministers will hold a meeting today to reach an agreement on taxes, and options for coordinating the construction project in several stages.
As reported, the Riga City Council earlier rejected a proposal from "Latvijas buvnieku strategiska partneriba Ltd." (LBSP) that the city council would have to buy out the arena for the cost of its construction.
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided that Latvia would be given the opportunity to prove its ability to organize the world championship by July 1.
By July 1, IIHF wants to see all agreements concluded by LHF, Cabinet of Ministers, Riga City Council and construction companies on building the arena in Latvia, as well as all related authorizations, construction designs and other documents.
