Minneapolis mayor announces I-35W memorial
The mayor of the US city of Minneapolis has unveiled new plans for a memorial to the 2007 collapse of the I-35W Bridge. He was joined by memorial architect Tom Oslund and families of victims and survivors of the collapse.

The memorial garden features 13 standing beams, which will be illuminated during the evening. The names of the each of the people who lost their lives are to be engraved on opaque glass on the inside face of the I-beams.
The beams line an linear plaza space with a water wall incorporated to one side.
The project's numbers and dimensions have been chosen to reference the date and time of the collapse and the 13 people who died.
