More attention needed to problem with access to fire-plugs following fire in "Ainavas" hotel
In wake of the blaze in the boutique hotel "Ainavas" at 23 Peldu Street in Old Town Riga early this morning, where firefighters were unable to gain access to the nearest fire-plug, the State Fire and Rescue Service will again turn to the Riga City Council urging the municipality pay more attention to the problem.

As Solveiga Smiltene, press secretary at the State Fire and Rescue Service, told LETA, that the firefighters often have problems in reaching fire-plugs.
As was the case this morning, an automobile was parked on the nearest plug. Often the hydrants are also out of order.
