The number of persons in Riga using trams and trolleybuses grew last year, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.
The number of persons in Riga using trams and trolleybuses grew last year, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.
The total number was 176.9 million passengers, which was 6% more than in 2003.
Breaking down the two modes - 89 million persons traveled on trolleybuses, an 8.2% increase; 87.9 million on trams or 3.9% more than in 2003.
A greater number of passengers also used train service - 23.9 million, or 3.9% more. Domestic service counted 23.5 million passengers, or 4% more, while international routes continued to show a decrease - 400,000 passengers or 2.2% less than in 2003.
