A new concert hall in Riga could be constructed on Aleksandra Grina Boulevard, next to Uzvaras (Victory) Park in Pardaugava.
A new concert hall in Riga could be constructed on Aleksandra Grina Boulevard, next to Uzvaras (Victory) Park in Pardaugava. The proposal was backed at a meeting of Riga City Council's representatives with Saeima deputy and composer Raimonds Pauls, the author of the idea of raising a new concert hall in Riga, as well as conductor Normunds Sne, singer Mirdza Zivere and others, LETA was informed by the Riga City Council's Information and Public Relations Department.
Musicians and organizers of concerts agree that a new concert hall is needed in Riga. Riga City Council's Culture, Art and Religious Affairs Committee Chairman Dainis Ivans believes that a land plot should be allotted for construction of the concert hall, and a special task force set up for managing the construction work.
Riga City Council's Culture Administration was assigned to work out specific proposals and evaluate the situation with present concert halls in Riga. A task force for construction of a new concert hall in Riga will be set up then.
