New public transportation complex is planned to build in Riga

According with resolution project about financing of cityģs investment projects, resources for building of new complex are planned to assign not earlier that at January 1, 2002.
New complex might be build during the period of 15 month from the moment when finances will be given, believes Igors Volkinšteins, technical director of Imanta. At the same time he pointed out, that according to normative acts, before the building process starts, itģs necessary to announce the competition to choose construction organization, supply of building materials etc.
Volkinšteins informed agency LETA, that project of station was created a year ago and it combines impressions that were gained abroad and ideas of experienced specialists. Project has all necessary agreements and exact calculation.
According to the project, modern gas station, that meets present-day standards, new dispatcher service, administration premises, bus parking place etc. are planned to locate at the new complex.
Volkinšteins told, that at the present moment room, where medical checkup and other regular procedures should be held for 280 people, is not bigger that 40 square meters.
Volkinšteins was not open to comment, could this huge investment impact the tariff of the public transportation tickets, and pointed out that, itģs self-governmentģs sphere.
As informed by RD department of information and PR, RD will finance cityģs investment projects out of the loans - credit lines, which amount is 7 873 192 lats.
