Oil product reservoir explodes in Riga
A reservoir containing oil products that belongs to "Eko osta Ltd." exploded and burst into flames shortly before 11 a.m. today. One person was killed, two sustained injuries in the accident.

It is possible that the explosion may have been caused by welders, the State Fire and Rescue Service Press Secretary Solveiga Smiltene told LETA.
The reservoir held 1,000 cubic meters of oil products. There are 15 fire trucks at the scene.
The terminal is located at 39a Tvaika Street in Riga. "Eko osta's" largest shareholders are Jurijs Sabasovs, Vladimirs Komogorcevs and Andrejs Laskovs.
According to Smiltene, the explosion killed Valerijs B., about 40 years old. Two injured men were hospitalized, one of them is in critical condition.
Firefighters are trying to save another reservoir next to the one in flames, and a fuel distribution facility, Smiltene reported.
LETA has not yet managed to get in contact with any of "Eko osta's" CEOs.
