As reported before, Environment defense club gathered 10.000 signatures about moratorium on building in Old Riga and submitted them at Rigaģs municipality at the spring.
Puriņš said, that building in Old Riga shouldnģt be stopped completely, we should build new buildings, that are going to become witnesses about these days in a future.
Puriņš said, that we should carefully consider what new objects should be build in Old Riga and what to keep from history for next generations.
"Riga is like pearl and why should we pollute it with bricks or concrete, granite fur and flat roofs? This city is different. Situation should be reconsidered very careful, because politics will change, mayors of city will change, but Riga will stay, said president of the Builders? association at the interview.
