Riga City Council allots LVL 245,000 for repairs to Salu Bridge
Riga City Council today approved an appropriation of LVL 245,000 for repairs to the Salu Bridge.

The company "Rigas tilti Ltd." (Riga Bridges) was selected through a tender to repair the bridge. Rigas tilti" will be paid LVL 194,549 for doing the job.
If the contract is signed timely, the repair work could be launched already on September 3 and completed by October 15, "Rigas tilti" director Albins Jasaitis told LETA.
The Ministry of Finance will most believably support a proposal from the Ministry of Transport on allotting a half of the funding from the State Highway Fund. The Transport Ministry has said it is ready to allot LVL 110,000 for repairing the bridge.
As reported, an accident involving three vehicles on August 2 night resulted in a petrol truck smashing through the bridge's guard rail and tumbling down onto the trolley-bus cables at the Mukusalas Street roundabout.
