Riga central railway station will be opened this week after the reconstruction
As Rems Razums, director of projects and PR at the Real Estate Company Linstow Varner, building company RBS Skals did reinforcement of the main constructions, setting-up the modern elevator and escalator, three chairs^apostrofs; lifting mechanisms for people with special needs and change of roof, window-cases, windows and doors at the second part of the reconstruction of the Central railway station.

Main glass front was changed, keeping current visual division, and current stone front was cleaned too. Floor of the Central hall was changed accordingly the contract, and resistant stone mass tiles were putted in at the place of the old monolith "terracco". Communication, drainage and heat systems were changed, just like at the proximal hall.
Both parts of the station, that were divided without reason, will make united complex after the full completion of the reconstruction's second part - both halls will be connected in two levels, by creating transition joints with safe non-skid covering.
Until now Linstow Varner invested 5,5 millions USA dollars in total in the both parts of the station - reconstruction of former international and local halls.
Architectural bureau SIA Sarma un Norde created sketch design of the station's reconstruction, but technical project was created by SIA Nams.
Opening of the station will be at Thursday, when special quests and journalists will be invited at the celebration breakfast. Former Station's International hall will be opened for passengers at 12.
Opening celebration will start at 5pm at the Station Square. Shake&Bake, Arnis Mednis, The Hobos and Skamp form Lithuania will play at the special scene that will be set up at the square. Different kind of lotteries and contests will be held and prizes will be given during the evening.
