A decision had been made previously to alter the design project in order to (if possible) eliminate any obstruction of the view of Riga from the left bank of the river, make the building more accessible to the public, and expand its "green zone".
As reported by Latvian State Television yesterday, "Merks" now says that the building's height will remain the same so as not to "distort" the original design project. Other alterations will be made, for instance, removal of the glass embellishments for six of the building's stories.
Today, "Merks" intends to present the planned alterations to the State Cultural Monument Protection Inspection.
