Tender proposal submission deadline for international tender - renovation of State Tech School and Technical College of Riga
Today was the deadline for submitting tender proposals for the rights to carry out renovation of State Tech School and Technical College of Riga. The international tender was announced by the Educational development project unit, which received a loan from the International Reconstruction and Development Bank for this purpose.
Today was the deadline for submitting tender proposals for the rights to carry out renovation of State Tech School and Technical College of Riga. The renovation will take place in accordance with procedure established by the above-mentioned bank in January 1995 regarding standard international tender documents for small size activities.
In accordance with the tender regulations, the proposals will be valid for 90 days following their opening and a security of Ls 7000 or the equivalent sum in convertible currency must be paid on tender submission.
A loan agreement was signed between World Bank and Latvia on August 19, 1999 which came into force on February 15, 2000. The 28 million EURO agreement for covering the project expenses is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The education and development project consists of two sub-programs- costs effectivity sub-program deals with increase of energy-effectivity in educational institutions and renovation of their buildings, educational quality sub-program deals with establishing standards for educational subjects and programs, examinations of Form 9, school evaluation model and communication strategy in education.
During the past year 25 educational institutions in self-governed areas were renovated within the framework of the project, which amounted to 4.65 million Ls of the project funds. The funds were used for packing windows or fully replacing them, insulating the outer walls, replacing roofs and in some cases creating new steam shops and attics, thus increasing the amount of areas in use.
