The 10th Moscow International Exhibition "TransRussia 2005" will open tomorrow, and about 24 transit sector companies from Latvia are set to participate, LETA was informed by the Transport Ministry's Public Relations Department.
The exhibition will be held in Moscow's "Olimpiyskiy" Center through March 25.
The joint display stand will feature Ventspils, Riga Freeport, Liepaja Special Economic Zone companies, the Latvian Railroad Company ("Latvijas dzelzcels), and others.
The ministry points out that experience from previous years indicates that the joint stand and well-considered promotional materials accent the opportunities Latvia's ports and other transport avenues offer and the potential that transit has as a key sector of national importance.
Each year since 1996, the exhibition gathers leading transport, logistics, machinery-producing and technology companies from Russia and other countries. It has the reputation as the most important transport and logistics forum in Russia, CIS and the Baltics. Over 14,000 persons usually attend.
350 companies from over 20 nations are scheduled to participate.
Besides the exhibition, the Hotel "Renesanse" will host a conference, and among the speakers will be Transport Ministry Political Department Director Andris Maldups.
