Turnover at public catering giant "Lido" up 14.7% in 2001

Turnover at the public catering company "Lido" last year has been estimated at about LVL 13.824 million or 14.7 percent more than in 2000, when turnover was at LVL 12.05 million.

As LETA was informed by the company's senior economist Valdis Ceics, auditing is continuing at the company at this time. The company concluded the year 2000 with LVL 519,506 in losses.

Ceics expressed conviction that results in 2001 would be better, pointing to the renewed operations of the public catering enterprise "Krievu seta" on Kengaraga Street.

The company operated nine bistros overall last year. Besides, the company deals in meat and fish processing and the sale of its products at three retail outlets in Riga, Jelgava and Liepaja. However, public catering covers the bulk of the turnover.

The company's representative declined to comment on the company's plans for this year as they would be released after approval of the investment plan.
