As LETA reported yesterday, a new "Rimi" supermarket opens its doors in Kauguri at 29 Talsu Highway in Jurmala today.
In Daugavpils, the "Rimi" supermarket will open on June12, but in Riga, on Stirnu Street in the Purvciems residential area on June 20.
In Daugavpils, the new "Rimi" supermarket on the main street of the city - 18 Novembra Street will be the first "Rimi" supermarket in the Latgale region. About 40 people will be employed in the Daugavpils store and 30 more jobs will be available in the adjacent haberdashery, music, toys, mobile communications, watches and jewelry stores. The location has a parking lot for 60 automobiles.
In Riga, the "Rimi" supermarket will be located in a restored and extended building owned by "Austrumu nami Ltd.". The total area of the building is 2,710 square meters, "Rimi" will occupy 1,300 square meters. 40 people will be employed in the store.
"Rimi Latvija" has invested financing in its infrastructure and, as a result, a public transportation stop will be set up again near the location.
This year, the company has opened four supermarkets - two in Talsi, one in Dobele and one - Kauguri. In total, "Rimi Latvija" has already opened 29 supermarkets in Latvia.
By the end of the year, at least eight "Rimi" supermarkets are to opened throughout Latvia and two hypermarkets "Maxi Rimi" in Riga. One of them will be open in the renovated shopping center "Mols", but another - in Kipsala.
"Rimi Latvija" investments in the Latvian economy exceed LVL 100 million in five years of operations.
