UNESCO World Heritage Center experts to become acquainted with preservation and development plan for Riga historic center
A delegation from the UNESCO World Heritage Center is paying a two-day visit to Riga in order to become acquainted with the territory of the Riga historic center and its preservation and development plan worked out in the first reading, Dana Hasana, the head of the Public Relations Office at the Riga City Council^apostrofs;s Development Department, told LETA.

The UNESCO experts are visiting Riga at the invitation of Riga City Council's Development Department.
The experts along with the department's specialists and the State Cultural Monument Protection Inspection officials will become acquainted with the historic center and problematic sites within its territory.
In order to evaluate the condition of certain buildings and balance between the historic style and construction of new buildings on the territory of the historic center, the experts are also set to inspect the group of wooden buildings on Avotu and Stabu streets, and on Dzirnavu Street between Strelnieku and Valdemara streets, and other sites.
The experts will be informed in detail about the plan on the preservation and development of the historic center of Riga in the first reading.
