As LETA was informed by Dans Titavs, aide to Prime Minister Einars Repse, Minister of Finance Valdis Dombrovskis will be informed about the government's stance.
The finance minister decided to propose that the contract should not be broken after becoming acquainted with several opinions. As the minister told LETA, he made a decision after learning the opinion of the Acquisition Control Bureau and explanations from the State Revenue Service. "Velve Ltd." won a tender because its bid was the most affordable, the finance minister said.
Dombrovskis handed his evaluation of the tender to Repse, who had terminated a contract with "Velve", requesting an evaluation how the procedure of the tender meets national interests.
The State Revenue Service signed the contract with "Velve" for LVL 979,296 on the last work day of 2002 - December 27. "Velve" President Andris Kreislers, was one of the supporters of New Era before formation of the party. Kreislers donated LVL 8,000 to Repse but "Velve" donated LVL 1,500 to the party.
