Vitols again appointed chairman of "Latvenergo" council
Today businessman and millionaire Vilis Vitols, who is supported by New Era (JL), was elected as new chairman of the council at the joint stock power utility "Latvenergo". He had also held the office before the approval of the government of Indulis Emsis (Union of Green and Farmers, ZZS).

Roberts Dilba (ZZS) was appointed as deputy chairman of "Latvenergo" council, but Economy Ministry's deputy state secretary Andris Liepins - the council's secretary.
After Emsis' government was approved, Vitols and scientist Juris Ekmanis were released from the "Latvenergo" council, and four other persons representing the new coalition parties were appointed to the council instead, plus Anatolijs Abramovs.
During "Latvenergo" shareholders meeting last week, Romans Mezeckis (Latvia's First Party, LPP), Minister of Transport Ainars Slesers' (LPP) advisor Ivars Gulbis and Anatolijs Abramovs were dismissed from "Latvenergo" council, they were replaced with Janis Grevins, Edgars Volskis and Vitols.
People's Party representative Margarita Brikmane remains a member of "Latvenergo" council, as well as Dilba, Liepins and Gints Lipsbergs.
