Frankfurt am Main / Dortmund. Entirely in step with the high efficiency theme, WILO SE will be appearing at the ISH 2011 exhibition (15th to 19th March) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The Dortmund-based pump manufacturer will be showing its pioneering product innovations which go far beyond the previous range of high-efficiency pump systems. In a separate area of the stand called the 'Wilo Arena", experts will be giving short talks about current specialist topics and product innovations.
One of the innovations on centrestage is the "Wilo-Geniax" decentralised pump system. This system uses several miniature pumps placed on the heating surfaces/heating circuits in place of the thermostatic valves in the heating area. Conventional supply-oriented heating with a central heating pump is replaced here with demand-oriented heating. The pump only runs when heat is required.
Savings potentials of approx. 20 % in heat energy and 50 % in energy savings for a detached house fitted with "Wilo-Geniax" compared to an identical house with hydraulic compensation have been demonstrated in a long-term comparative study conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP) in practical trials. The system also has official certification from TÜV Rheinland (the certificate can be viewed at www.wilo.de/Rechtliches).
At the upcoming exhibition, Wilo will be presenting new fields of application and hard- and software solutions for "Wilo-Geniax". The decentralised pump system is not only usable in conventional heating systems, but now can also be used for basic uncontrolled cooling - in conjunction with a heat pump and underfloor heating. This new application variation will again significantly boost user comfort, says Wilo on the eve of the exhibition.
Wilo will also be presenting the entire range of applications of the decentralised pump system in the heating area at its exhibition stand, using the actual operation of a model installation to do so. The model shows a variety of solutions from direct installation on radiators to the distributor connection for surface heating systems. Several connection versions will be presented in partnership with various manufacturers of surface heating systems and -distributors. The presentation also covers installations for detached and multi-family houses, offices and schools.
Visitors to the Wilo stand can also expect to see new hardware and software solutions for "Wilo-Geniax". For instance, "BACnet module" is available to a decentralised pump system to be controlled by a building automation system. Up to four Geniax servers can be connected to the building automation system simultaneously.
Even greater flexible control and operation of "Wilo-Geniax" is provided by the "SysManager". This software allows users to access the decentralised pump system from a remotely-located PC which they can use to program time- and temperature profiles for example. The software also provides extended diagnostic functionality for specialist technicians, including the display of trend curves for analysis of temperature behaviour, feed temperatures, pump speeds and system states.
